It takes a village to raise a child. Storypark’s collection of private online communities are supporting teachers and families around the world to support better outcomes for children.

We’re a socially conscious group who believe in working to make a difference, not just a dollar. We’re passionate about solving meaningful problems, and we’ve big plans to continue expanding into the uncharted corners of the sector.

This is where you come in.

What you’ll be doing

  • Writing and reviewing application code, focused on building a product to support teacher capability building
  • Working with Product teams to define new features
  • Documenting the systems you help build
  • Coordinating with engineering leadership to define and prioritize engineering projects
  • Working with support to triage and debug technical support requests
  • Assisting in ongoing infrastructure monitoring and improvements

Skills and experience

  • Could be an intermediate or senior level of experience working with Ruby on Rails or an equivalent MVC framework
  • A good understanding with modern front-end development (We use Vue.js, but react, angular, or similar experience is great too)
  • Willingness to learn across the board
  • A strong commitment to quality
  • Solid knowledge of testing principles
  • Fit our values of impact, community and nurturing potential

As well as having the chance to make a difference to the lives of millions of children, parents and teachers you’ll find:

  • A great team who are fun, caring and share good values
  • A competitive salary
  • Regular compensation reviews – great work is rewarded!
  • Family-friendly workplace including paid parental leave, flexible working hours and open vacation policy
  • Break times actively encouraged – table tennis, board games and office rock climbing wall
  • Bottomless coffee, tea, cocoa and snacks with lots of shared lunches (for Wellington staff once office re-opens)
  • We’re happy to get you whatever equipment helps you get your job done
  • We’re looking for applicants within NZ (remote okay, head office is in Wellington)

We think you’ll like it here, a place where your own potential will be nurtured as you play an instrumental part in developing awesome products that really make a difference.
