Join us on our exciting journey of growth and become an important part of the Storypark family.

It takes a village to raise a child. At its heart, Storypark’s software keeps families connected to their young children’s learning and development while they are at an early learning centre. We help parents know what their child is doing while they’re apart, and we help teachers better understand the children they care for by bringing their home life into their centres.

We’re a socially conscious group who believe in working to make a difference, not just a dollar. We’re passionate about solving meaningful problems, and we’ve big plans to continue expanding into the uncharted corners of the sector.

This is where you come in.

We’re looking for someone to join the Storypark family, combining a desire to make a difference with a passion for analysing data to inform strategic business decisions.

We’re the market leader in NZ and Australia, but there’s a lot more we want to do, and a lot more places we want to do it. In this role you’ll play a pivotal role helping us discover opportunities to benchmark and optimise our key business and social impact metrics, analyse our business data, translate numbers into actionable insight, inform strategic decisions across the entire company and report directly to our co-CEO.

You’ll collaborate with the sales, marketing and customer success teams to measure success and iterate, continually improve upon our processes and our funnel metrics, isolating hidden correlations and calling out new insights to grow our business.

You’ll use data to develop and inform your breadth and depth of understanding of our product usage patterns and share this knowledge across the rest of our team helping us shape the product and direction of the company.

To do this you’ll

  • Own KPIs and analytics around business performance
  • Analyse and optimise our budgets and forecasts
  • Assist the Board and Leadership team to develop operational reports
  • Make recommendations to the executive team to support strategic decision making and share your ideas for step change improvement
  • Help us measure and provide insights into team performance and KPIs
  • Help guide us in how we measure the social outcomes Storypark helps create
  • Increase data availability and create meaningful and creative dashboards, visualizations, and reports
  • Work closely with our engineers in order to automate the collection and analysis of the raw data required for the models you build
  • Model new pricing scenarios and potential market opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success and Product to ensure teams are equipped with benchmarking, KPIs and the correct insight to deliver on team and company goals
  • Support sales and marketing in understanding our funnel metrics and recommend areas needing improvement
  • Support us in understanding how customers are engaging with and utilising our products

Is this you?

  • Highly driven, results-oriented and creative with an analytical approach to problem solving
  • 2+ years’ experience in a relevant finance, management consulting or business analytics role with proven and progressive experience helping teams think through problems with data
  • Bachelor degree or higher qualification in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce or equivalent field
  • A passion for undertaking complex data analysis and instilling key insights into simple models for stakeholders to understand and act upon
  • Building dashboards, reports and metrics to help teams measure and monitor success
  • Experience using data visualisation tools to convey analysis effectively to a broad audience
  • Quantitative reasoning: Identifying weaknesses, pitfalls, and implicit assumptions in data analyses and business cases, including your own (but still being nice about it)
  • Ability to explain complex topics clearly and succinctly through strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills
  • Understanding of SaaS business concepts e.g. ARPU, LTV, Churn, CAC
  • Excellent Excel skill level
  • Organised with the ability to prioritise and set direction in a dynamic environment

Bonus points

  • We care about simplifying problems and seamless execution so bonus points if you write like Hemingway, present like Jobs, and visualise data like Tufte
  • Some experience with SQL (SQL Server) or other programming languages
  • Knowledge in data preparation, collection, and cleansing (ETL) processes
  • Statistics background (including use of R, Python, SAS, etc.) and experimental methodology (eg. A/B testing)
